Mine was on when I received it from the factory. I
made the mistake of assuming that it was a faulty
light. It kept going on and off for the next
month. One saturday morning, my wife and I loaded
up the truck to go on our vacation. We got in and
I cranked, and cranked, and cranked... Needless to
say, it never turned over. I had to get it towed
to the nearest ford dealer. (so much for the
vacation.) They said that the water in the
separator shorted out the heating element and blew
a fuse. Something about corrosion. Anyway they
had to order a new furel filter/heater housing.
Worked great after that, but didn't do much for my
vacation. I'll have to send jason pictures of my
truck being towed away on a flatbed. I guess at
that point she was a trailer queen :-)
drain that water, or don't go on vacation.
dan.
