Jerry,
Unless somebody is just really into bodacious
sounds the current stock muffler seems to be
the way to go. From my point of view only a
change that would give more power or ecomomy
would be worth the change.
I had heard that the current stock muffler was
good and then Jason's Banks Feature confirmed
it. In their tests they say to leave the stock
muffler there because it flows as good and in
most cases better than aftermarket stuff.
BTW, thanks for your recent e-mail. The new
5th wheel came home (450 miles or so) just fine
behind my '97. As near as I can determine
without a trip to the scales my combined weight
was about 17000#+. The trip was from Banning
in the So Cal Desert to the Bay Area. The first
leg of about 300 miles included stop & go LA
traffic and "The Grapvine" grade climb which is
a long stretch to over 5000'. Average top speed
was between 60-65 with 4.10 and E40D. The
PSD now has about 5K miles on it. Average
mpg for that leg was 11.72. Haven't filled up yet
so not sure about the 2nd easier leg. Am very
happy with this F350 Supercab Dually. Only
addition so far is K&N. Transcommand and
Red Line Hi-Temp ATF is next.
Jan
