[Thread Backward] Re: OIl change interval Ford vs. NavistaMsg # 5126 of 8004 on Powerstroke Diesel Conference (1)To: Jerry, From: Mark Thomas Time: Tuesday 01-27-98, 06:39 pm Go with a cooler and daul filters. Use a wix 1773 filter and put a thermostat in the oil line to prevent over cooling the oil. If this doesn't add enough oil use bigger filters. I have this on my IDI 7.3L and works fine and oil changes are no harder. Has anyone put an oil temp gauge on after like the Banks stage three kit to see what the oil temp is? You might need the cooler. Higher oil capacity. The T444E holds 17 --quarts ----vs. the 14 in the PowerStroke version of the ----engine. The difference probably results from -Ford ----using a smaller oil pan to fit within the -confines ----of the F & E-series vehicles. The Extender filter technology.
