The party issuing the warranty has only to prove
that the part in question was not defective.
Failure of a part is not proof that it is
defective. The Moss-Magnuson act was implemented to
keep tha manufacturers from requiring that the
customer use their brand of filters etc. It also
required that if the warranty was dependent on
using only specific brands, the Company is required
to supply them at no cost. Don't think for one
minute that Ford or any other manufacturer is going
to roll over because of what an after-market parts
manufaturer says. I am anxious to see the warranty.
They usually read something like" warranty will not
be voided soley by the use of xxxx products. Thwe
secret here is soley.

-The relevant legislation is the Magnuson-Moss
-Warranty Act. The party issuing the warranty, e.g.
-Ford, has the burden of proof that an aftermarket
-part or service is the cause of a failure of an OEM
-part. So, even if you throw a rod, Ford has to
-prove that it was due to whatever fiddling you've
-been up to, if they want to deny your warranty
-claim.

-Now, what constitutes "proof"?
