Richard,
Don't know what year your truck is but there
has been a intermittent problem with some trucks
having the clutch throw-out bearing collar bind on
the trans input shaft sleeve due to dirt and
dryness. This in turn puts a severe strain on the
master cyl. and especially the slave cylinder. The
first clue is you feel kind of a scrapeing in your
foot as you depress the clutch. There may be a TSB
on it I can't remember. About once a year I lube
the collar, and that takes care of it. It's hard
to do, but you can lube it effectively without
removing anything but the clutch fork and the slave
cylinder. If you want the particulars get back to
me. JD
-Any TSB's on this? Repairs were $300, towing bill
-$80.
