I would expect the auto to get slightly less fuel
economy, particularly around town where the torque
converter is often unlocked.  But I haven't seen
any such trend in the mpg figures from the guy
around here.  My auto got about 18.5 mpg on the
last tankfull, I had about 60 miles of around town
driving and 110 miles of interstate cruising on
that tank.  I've had as high as 22 mpg and as low
as 12 mpg.  The variability is such that it would
be very hard to tell due to the differences in
drivers and trucks.  BTW, mine is a 4x4 SC with
4.10 axles.  I now have almost 5000 miles on the
truck.
