The future govermental requirement for air bags
applies only to passenger vehicles.  The HD trucks
over a certain GVWR are not considered passenger
vehicles, and are exempt.  Secondly, an air bag
does not carry the marketing weight with the work
truck buyer as is does with the mini-van crowd.
Hopefully this will answer the question and prevent
another flame war on the merits of air bags.  But I
doubt it.
