--Gary,
-I don't know if they were turbocharged from the
-factory. The one I had I had put on, mine wasn't
-trubocharged from the factory. That was the reason
-that ford wouldn't pay for it. They told me that
-the reason they had the engine set up like they did
-was that was all the truck could handle in terms of
-torque and horsepower. ATS said at the time that
-wasn't true, but I quess it was ford's opinion that
-counted. Ford told me at that time that any
-aftermarket parts that were used to enhance would
-void the warranty. When I bought my powerstroke I
-asked the ford dealer and they told me basically
-the same thing, any aftermarket parts and the
-warranty was void. I am very leary about putting
-any parts on one now for this reason.

I think a lot might have to do with the dealership.
I asked mine before the purchase if suspension
lift, oversize tires or turbo mods/chip would void
my warranty. Their reply was they wanted to sell
me another truck. At first this puzzled me until
the service manager asked me if I would purchase
another truck from them if they failed to warranty
this one. All they asked was that I have them
check the modifications so they can make sure it
does not adversly effect something that they need
to make an adjust for. They were more than happy
to run the truck on thier chassis dyno to
recalibrate the speedometer after the tire swap.
The mechanics like the truck and to them the
modifications are no different than the ambulances,
brush trucks or dump units they regularly work on.
I am going to try and get the Banks PowerPack
installed before my 6000 mile service. I'll let
you know how it turns out.
Keith
