[Thread Backward] Re: Mileage/Power Improvement After BreaMsg # 4981 of 8004 on Powerstroke Diesel Conference (1)To: Jason, From: Dave and all Time: Sunday 01-25-98, 10:03 pm We have been over this subject sooooo many times and I thought I would throw in my experiences as well(since i never have) My 97' F-350 CC 4x4(4:10,auto) now has slightly over 3000 miles on it and is driven a good mix of city and highway. It has an aluminum toolbox cap on the back and has usually about 1000# of tools in the back. As of the last 2 tanks of fuel on mostly highway driving the MPG was 14.3 and this is by far the best I have gotten. It was about 11 on the tanks before. This is much better than the 8 mpg the 460 in a 97' SC it replaced so I don't complain. Hey, I ordered a chip that is sure to cost me some MPG but if you can't afford to feed them, then sell them and get a Metro.(you can get 3 for the cost of a PSD) Will the MPG go up after the break in......probably... but say it goes up 20%, that is still only 3 mpg at best. Some people make some very outrageous claims on MPG... and I laugh and say ...yea right and santa is real too, must be using "new math" in the calculation. The point is ....who cares, you bought it, if you didn't do the research and knew going in what you were getting, then SORRY CHARLIE, live with it or sell it to someone else. Headhunter....you are too cool to lose from this page....tell this chump to bite a big one. BKC On Sunday 01-25-98, 06:15 pm, Jason said: -I really hate repeating myself.
