[Thread Backward] Re: Mileage/Power Improvement After BreaMsg # 4986 of 8004 on Powerstroke Diesel Conference (1)To: Dave and all, From: Jason Time: Sunday 01-25-98, 10:27 pm I'll have to agree on the MPG issue. Mine gets 15- 16 average. That's a solid average over the last 8000 miles. Mostly empty, but a few trips with a heavy trailer. I drive it hard and think that's pretty good for a 444 cubic inch engine (it's a diesel, but that's still a huge engine in a light truck), 4.10 gears, and 6500 lbs truck (never actually weighed it, just estimating). Also, around here, diesel is about $.10/gallon cheaper than gas. We had an F-350 with the 400M and never got over 10 with it. It didn't weigh as much as this one either.
