[Thread Backward] Transmission shift points on 4R100Msg # 6 of 4192 on Power Stroke Conference '99-up (2)To: All, From: Paul From Pa. Time: Monday 02-08-99, 07:02 pm I have a 99 350 PSD 4X4 auto.I don't like how the transmission will shift into overdrive and the convertor will lock up at around 50 MPH.If you are behind a car and you cant accelerate you get caught in this situation where the engine RPM's are around 1250.It's not to the point that the engine is lugging but it is just not at an RPM where their is any throttle response at all.I had a 95 Dodge Diesel that did the same thing and I got the PCM reprogrammed that changed the shift and converter lock-up points to keep the RPM's out of this dead zone.My question is does Ford have a PCM reprogram or does the Banks Transcommand change the shift points.I have read it gives you crisper shifts, but I am unsure if it does change the shift and converter lock-up point.
