Another thing to consider is the value you recoup
on resale. I don't know where you live but in TX a
Dodge or Ford 3/4-1 ton pickup with gas motors sell
for less than the diesel models for about the
diesel engine price when new. Either make in a '96
diesel ext cab  with the big gas motor is  $16,000
and the diesel of either make is $20,000 according
to ads in the "Truck Trader" or the newspaper. The
dealers are going to hose you a gas trade-in.
