Make sure your fuel regulator screen is clean and shim your fuel regulator.

FYI If your truck is a 96-97 your FPR will not look exactly like that one. It will not have the black strainer on the bottom. The strainer is internal and it looks like a wire mesh. Best thing to do is pull the FPR completely off and take it apart. Soak the wire mesh in carborator acid to get it clean.

Hope this helps,

Starr

Yep, taking it off would be better, but you can do a good job by just taking off the 2 10mm bolts and being carefull not to loose the o ring gasket when you pry fpr away from bowl. I was able to fully clean it this way and it made a huge difference for me. The bb shim is a piece of cake. I just unscrewed bolt and used needle nosed plyers to grab spring, put bb in and used needle nosed to put screen on, screwed bolt back and done. It is like a 5 min job the first time and a 2 min one thereafter as your rectum is not puckered any longer when you see how easy it is

Don't forget...instead of the old BB mod for the regulator, there is a "California Kit" that basically replaces the spring a longer proper one, where you aren't having to put the BB in.
