International Truck Badge
#1792135 - 05/08/04 08:47 PM

Anyone out their ever seen a small International Badge? I am looking for a small one to put next to the Powerstroke badge. Kind of like the cummins badge on the front of the dodges. I'm talking about the orange and black logo badge, like the ones that are on the big signs in front of International truck dealers.

Check your IH dealer or find a junk yard with old Scouts or Travelalls. You should be able to find something from back then. This is all pre 80's stuff and I think the Travelalls stop production before the Scout demise in 1980.

I am looking for some a little smaller than the 4' ones. Maybe 2 or 3 inch. I PM mekong yesterday. I will let you know what he says. I had a look at a low res of his truck and I saw the badge on the side. But could not tell what size it was or if it was a badge or a sticker. I have removed the powerstroke badges and am ready for a International badge with a T444E badge!

Anyone else

One other place for you folks to check. There are several specialty places that deal with used Scouts. Grab any 4x4 mag and check the advertisers or check the internet under used Scout parts or Scout II parts

PS If you looking specifically for the IH badge with the I in the H there are probably thousands of these to be had in the junk yards as they were the hood or grill ornament on all of International trucks in the 60's to 80's, including the big rigs

I think most want the "new" International logo that is orange with the endless road. Not the 4" size but a 2-3 inch size. That's what I am working on.

OK Folks
I just happened to talk to my friendly IH dealer today 1-800-274-7771 These folks are in Grand Jct Co. I talked to Clyde in the Glenwood Springs branch of these folks. The badge off of the 7500 series grill (part number 3550901C1) is about the size you want. It is priced at about $39.43 over the counter - over $54 retail.

So give them a call or check out your local dealer. Hope this helps.

This is the 4" badge that my dealer has for $40 as well. I think it is to big for the side of our trucks. This 4" badge is on just about everything. I see about 20 a day on all the school buses I see.

The badge that Yoda is talking about is way to big for our trucks. I got one to try and it wont fit anywhere on the fender or door because the badge is totally flat and the fenders/doors have a slight curve to them.

Bella, if you are getting the ones made up that look like the one in the post above with the T444E next to the endless road I'm in for 3 of them.

There is a 444 badge available like your talking about. They are made by MaXRSmart, (Steve). Here is a link to the pics.

444 Billet Badge

They look like what your talking about. I know that Steve has made other custom badges in the past. I'm sure he might be able to come up with something. Worth a PM anyway. Just got my Excursion Badges for my Wifes Birthday. They are very well made and look awesome.

Yet another option:

http://web.tampabay.rr.com/geddes/badge.htm

I scavenged two of these off the hood of a school bus that was being surplused. I think the brand was Thomas, but not sure. I plan on removing the "3800" and mounting on doors over existing badges.

I had thought about this as this post was evolving while you were away Larry. As part of that thinking, I considered is this a group purchase inlight of the intent of the rule? I was thinking that the purpose of the rule was to not have a group of people buy something under the "color" of TDS which I understand totally. I could see where that could bring some type of libility to TDS which I would not want to happen. I did not see that as being the case here. But perhaps my thoughts on the intent of the rule was not inline with that of the owner of whom has the final say.
In regard to the second rule it would seem that would apply to those whose purpose was to make a profit as in run a business. I was not under the impression that that was the case. I thought that this was just a guy who had the ability and the means to come up with something that obviously a lot of people had an interest in as it was different and unique. I looked at it that he was looking to cover the costs not make a profit or run a business but maybe I had the wrong impression here too.
In any case this is all I wanted to say on this and I will be sending a PM to the member after posting this to avoid violating any rules. My appologies if I did violate the rule(s) as that was not my intent nor my perception.

I'm hoping that Bella will set something up through paypal or the like and we can buy through that rather than here on TDS. There was too much hard work on his part to just give up. There are ways around things!! Hopefully Bella will have a plan when he gets back from wherever he went.
