I've never used them myself but my brother-in-law is a heavy equipment mechanic and he seems to figure their a pretty good tool. Maybe a little better than say Craftsman but not as good as Mac or Snap-on.

Bought the Husky (Home Depot) 25-250 ft/lb torque wrench about two months ago. Already have a Craftsman wrench that goes to 150 ft/lb.
So far I like the Husky better than the Craftsman!! The lock to hold the torque setting is better on the Husky. The Husky came with a plastic case, the Craftsman had none. And, the Husky was much less expensive.
I'd recommend it........

I have the Husky and highly recomend it. The one think I like about it over the Craftsmen is I can feel AND hear the click. I like to keep the radio cranking while I'm working and have had no problems with the Husky.

I find Snap On tools is nothing but a expensive name brand your just paying for a name I know my buddy doesn't buy their tools anymore he says its not worth the money. I actually like Westward I never had problems with them I never broke one of their sockets yet and I'am abusive to my tools. They are kept in their places so I don't mistreat them and keep them relativly clean but here in B.C. you got rust and you pull extra hard on nuts and bolts to get them loose.
I found craftsman sockets tobe the worst I don't know how many of them I broke my dad bought a couple 1/2 drive sets and I think I snapped and cracked most of them. If they get slightly of kilter and crack you broke the damn thing with the Westwards that never happens.
Craftsman changed their combination wrenches to a new design they are a thin profile and bend like nothing I have a 3/16s to 1 1/4 combination wrench set its the old style the best set I have ever owned. Our local heavyduty parts shop has switch to GEL tools they seem tobe alright I havent bought much of them yet but my buddy does and says they are just as good as the Snap ons.
I have used some Husky tools they seems pretty good never broke a socket and the wrenches seem nice to hold don't have a Home Depot close by to buy Husky tools.

I have a Husky 0-250 ft.lb. and am happy with it plus it has a lifetime warranty, Craftsman doesn't. I remember the days when if it said Craftsman on it, it was good forever. Traildust

i had a crapsman torque wrench and the head shattered when torquing friends wheels at 90 lbs/ft. sears would have honored the warrenty, but i would have had to wait almost 3 months to get it in stock. i went to home depot and used their "we honor competitors warrenty" deal and traded in for a higher model husky one [up to 250lbs, sears was 150] i like it a lot. when the little 250 in/lbs goes on sale, i will get that one too....

As I recall all the Husky tools are made in China. Sorry, but that just doesn't seem right.

I got to get in on the snapon vs craftsman debate as a aircraft mech I have a toolbox full of snapon, mac and craftsman.the one area that no one comes close to snapon is in the small stuff (1/4 sockets & wrenches below 1/2 inch) Ive striped bolts out with craftsman and mac and pulled then right out with a snap on when it comes to larger stuf any "quality " tool will work .my take on mack is just better then craftsman quality at a snapon price every time I walk of a mac truck I feel like i just bought a stanly tool at 5x the price.mac does seam to have beter sales people than snapon

I stumbled across these sites a while back, and thought they might interest some of you guys. Can't vouch for accuracy, but may help clear up some questions.

Thanks for all the replies. I took the plunge and bought the Husky @ Home Depot. Seems like a good wrench for $60. The locking device works well. I retourqed the front lugs but I think the rotors are warped at 23,000 mi.
TheBundo: I looked high and low but couldn't find the "Globemaster" brand. Hope I didn't miss a bargain there.

John:
Nice links, thanks for the info.
Too bad there wasn't some more Euro info in there. Hand tools in the Fatherland seem to be a lot nicer than here (I still have some Stahlewille flat wrenches - WOW, strong and tiny box ends).

Just FYI Home Depot has Husky tools made by the company that used to make Craftsman, but sears droped them a few years ago and are having there tools made somewhere else (i think overseas) so Home Depot went to the old Craftsman company and had them start the Husky hand tool line and there Rigid power tool line.
