Help, I need new rotors, which are best ?
#1260715 - 06/16/03 09:16 PM

My local Les Schwab told me today that my rotors could not be turned and would require new ones. They quoted me 190.00 each. I've seen other prices from Kragen for raybestos, wearever and bendix. Is one better than the other ? Are there others out there. Price difference between 87.00 to 150.00 ~~
Thanks
Dan

Try a search for Baer or Stainless Steel Brake. These will be top of the line slotted or cross drilled. I need them for the wife's Grand Cherokee. She's managed to warp the stock ones racing around the Malls.

You could also look at proformance friction. They make stuff for the PSD but mainly race car stuff. I think frt rotors and pads were $400. There stuff is much better than stock.

www.appliedrotortechnology.com

www.frozenrotors.com

ART rotors are $590 for all 4 wheels and come with new Performance Friction pads.

I think that Frozen Rotors are about the same.

NAPA and AutoZone have rotors listed for under $100 each, but I don't know how good they are.

LOL

If your towing then the money you spend on good ones will be well spent. Hopefully you get the answer your looking for. I'll probably be back to read this thread when I need them as well

My problem is the rotors I need are for my Dually and seems to be quite difficult to find much in aftermarket. I've shopped around for performance rotors and have come up empty handed. All I'm left with is stock replacements so far

I found the NAPA rotors for around $185 a piece. I did get a qoute from Pinnacle for two front rotors and pads for $400. They look impressive in their construction. The $400 all at once set me back for a moment, then when I started adding up the NAPA prices, it turned out to be a fairly good deal.

NAPA rotors are heavier built than Ford and are about 135.00 each. A lot of Ford mechanics reccomend them.

Hmmm... I just went the the link that you posted, and the ART rotors are $400 for the front and $380 for the rear. That's a total of $780 for all four. Where did you see the $590 for all four. When I saw the $590 price, I though... Why buy anything else?

The $590 price is the dieselstop price that ART offers. Make sure you refer to this forum.
