99-1-6 - Low Clutch*
Problem - There is an updated
clutch master, slave and tube assembly available which is preassembled and pre-bled. This
also requires use of a new clutch master push rod.
Action - Ensure that the slot on
the clutch start interlock switch is aligned with the tab on the master cylinder;
misalignment can cause a loss of full master cylinder piston movement.

99-2-3 - Windshield Leaks
Problem - The customer (You) may
report a water leak in the windshield area. This is caused by a skip or a void in the
production sealer around the windshield.
Action - Apply a bead of sealer
around the periphery of the windshield. Refer to the proper manual for removal and
installation of the weatherstripping.
99-3-5 - Noisy T/C*
Problem - Some 1999 F-series with
the 4R100 transmission may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise in the converter housing area
of the transmission case.
Action - To diagnose, place gear
selector in park and using a break out box, ground pin 54 (TCC). This will fully apply the
torque converter clutch. Cycle the torque converter clutch on and off a few times by
applying and removing the ground to pin 54. If the rattle/scraping noise is not present
when the converter clutch is applied (pin 54 grounded), replace torque converter.

99-4-2 - Illumination of red warning lamp/Brake Fluid Leak
Problem - Customer may feel a
spongy brake pedal, increased pedal travel, and/or the Brake Warning light may illuminate
on vehicles driven on gravel roads or under severe conditions. This may be caused by a
loose brake hose connection at the left rear brake caliper
Action - Replace brake hose with a
revised part and install metal stone shield. Refer to kit installation sheet for further
instructions.
Affected Vehicles - F250-550 4x2s.

99-6-4 - Air Filter Box (Part II)
Problem - Lack of Power under load
at cruise or acceleration may occur on some vehicles. This may be caused by snow
packing/ingestion into the air cleaner assembly
Action - Ford has a new air
cleaner box which went into production on 99.5 trucks. This new air cleaner moves the air
intake from the fender well to the radiator support and incorporates a LH battery cover.
The modification requires removing the LH battery tray and blanket, replacing the P/S
return hose from the Hydra-boost and triming the LH radiator air deflector
Affected Vehicles - Trucks built
before 12/98.
99-6-5 - Wind noise around side door(s)

Problem - A Shift Flare of 200-300
rpms may occur intermittantly during the 2-3 or 3-4 upshift on some vehicles. This may be
caused by reduced Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) flow at the transmission solenoid body
assembly.
Action - Replace the Solenoid
Assembly with a revised Assembly and reprogram the PCM with the updated codes.
