Re: Fuel Filter/seperator drain o-ring replacement...my first write up
Couple of minor additions / hints from the tech who did mine for me this weekend (it was single digit temps and I don't have a decent place to get out of the wind). He loosens the terminal of the GPR so the wire isn't as much in the way and also pops the electrical connector off the sensor (forgot which on, it's right behind the filter / valve) to make a little more room. He also uses a plumbing drain wrench (one of those cheezy adjustable POS's) and an adjustable wrench to pop the fuel filter cover off, in case anyone has one in their toolbox and didn't think of it!
While I was there, I had a chat with the parts counter guys about the PSshop prices and they said they were a couple of (percentage) points above their cost -- they looked up list & cost on various parts I had #'s on. The CPS price made them insist it couldn't be a Ford part! FWIW, the parts manager said he had never sold a valve kit before this fall and now stocks 20+ and sells them daily.
Thanks to all who made this thread possible, it was a great help to get mine done within days of noticeable leakage!
