Brake controller

I have a 96 F-350 7.3 L PSD 5Spd.I just put a dump bed on it and was sorting out the wiring mess under the rear end.I plugged up the brake controller under the dash but cannot find the brake wire in the factory bundle under the rear of the truck.Arent they included in all the wiring harness's? Also when i activate the brake control the brake light come on is this normal?

2002 Isuzu NQR Dump was a box until I solved that problem.
