Ran rough, heavy blue-white smoke, stalled ??
Coming home from work today I was running on the rear tank (had been for 75 miles or so) and the truck started to miss, like it dropped a cylinder then another then another. Temp was 12* this morning when I started. Truck started normally, I left work and made it about 2 miles when this started. No CEL, the truck started smoking very heavy like an old Mack when started very cold (no mosquitos around, that's for sure!) Truck finally stalled, I switched to the front tank and tried to restart. It started but was running rough, smoothed out and ran OK. Once on the interstate I switched back to the rear tank and everything is fine. I got home and parked this morning and went to bed. This afternoon truck started OK (one cylinder dead, maybe two). The cold miss went away after 30 seconds or so - I think it's time for glow plugs again.
I was thinking maybe some ice in the system somewhere, any ideas?
