I went to my dealer today. The truck is going in tomorrow. I agree with you Greg, find and fix the problem. I did the cardboard thing because it has been below zero here, and I wanted to find out if the engine simply wasn't heating up enough, or not. I am thinking my problems have something to do with the EGR cooler. After my engine warmed up this morning, I felt the hoses to my heater core, and they were barely warm. I will know at the end of the day tomorrow. I will let you guys know what the dealer found.
