I guarantee you their boasted MPG wasn't in the city!
One of the things Ford got really really *right* with the 6.0L launch was the Donaldson air filter (well conceptually; a lot of people don't like the cosmetics of the case or the pain of changing it.) They got it so right that it's offered as a retrofit for 7.3L trucks. I believe if you are going to flow any more air than the stock setup, you have to do it by filtering less, i.e. risking more dirt in the turbo and engine.
So I am going to go out on a limb and say all 6.0L aftermarket air filters are a waste of money and potentially damaging to the engine. (I bet I'm gonna hear about that!)
