The FL is OLD!
That is why I bought it. I could have had one of those NEW Fords just the same. But my NEW F-450 got towed to the shop 4 times in 10,000 miles. That was enough NEW for me. maybe if I were able to get an OLD pre-99 Ford Superduty I would still have it, and not have my OLD 2001 FL.
Wow! Just how technologically advanced could a pickup truck cab that was converted to a medium truck cab get. It puts my FL cab to shame
If the Louisville engineers dreamed up these low geared F-450 and 550s as well they ought to be fired. I like the old Ford/Sterling trucks, but the new ones need much help. That is probably why the same guy that builds Big Ben does not make Rolex's
I will continue to drive my ugly looking FL. It looks a lot like the old MBs. Sort of like over in Europe, priority is engineering, reliability, then looks. Over here it is just the opposite.
BTW, CMD1 is having a hard time getting something as simple, yet extremely as important as a fuel filter. Cummins just shipped me 4 oil and 2 fuel filters for $83.10 tax included. Ford is looking for more than $80 for 1 filter, that is not even available.
Sorry, I bought my truck for function first. If I want looks, I will buy a car.
Where did you get your stats from? I thought F-650 750 sales were dying a slow death? I must just be imaging that most tractors I see on the road are FL? I was talking about heavy trucks. The F-550 still falls into the pickup truck category IMO. Shares much of the same drivline with the 250.
Sales really do not bother me, you are the one always carrying on about how Ford had better do something. The FL50 to FL112 are practically the same truck, so it all adds up to one assembly line to build several classes of trucks.
