Re: Strange Milage
When brand new (15 miles on it)I was getting 20+ @ 65-70mph on the long haul (no stops). Milage dropped to 17 for combined city hwy (always warm starts - I was trying to break it in ASAP). Now that I let it sit and it gets cold (takes 10 miles to warm up) the combined city/hwy has dropped to 15-16 mpg. I'm not sure why but it seems that cold starts and short runs really kills the MPG. It is almost like they pour the fuel in when it is cold (cold is ouside air at night drops to 55F). So for now with 800 miles it looks like current MPG is around 14 city(short trips), 16-17 city hwy, 18-20 hwy, towing over Santa Cruz hills with 7000lb (heavy foot) 12mpg.
This is using the computer and resetting it to make new measurements. The computer seems to be almost dead on over the first 500 miles but the accuracy for the short tests above need to be measured over a much longer perion of time.
