Re: Strange Milage
After reading about the mileage differences occuring I started a spreadsheet to track my mileage. I now have 2K miles and my total average is 13.96. It breaks down like this 13.66, 15.31, 12.43, 14.61 all hand calculated. I also have been tracking price difference and money saved per tank. So far $38.47 saved in buying diesel . These miles are split highway/city with not many long runs usually only 10 miles or so. On the longer trips the mileage easily goes up over 15 somewhere. I've also been monitoring the computer calculated mileage, it has varied also. It breaks down like this, first tank I didnt get so it starts with the second tank at hand calculated 15.31 MPG, computer 15.4. Then I reset the computer at fill up, next tank 12.43(hand), 13.9(computer). No reset on computer on this fill up, next tank 14.61 (hand), 15.0 (computer). It seems that not reseting the computer seems the way to go so far. I'm not going to reset for awhile and see how it goes.
