A Pilliar pod and gauges recommendation
As you can see from my signature. My engine is bone stock with the exception of the airbox recall or upgrade. I am getting ready to order from Dale, a three pod pillar with autometer gauges. I am not towing anything now and I would like to get some opinions on what gauges you would recommend with the main purpose being engine protection. I have heard on this forum that the stock water and oil gauges are pretty worthless. That being said, would you install a pyro gauge, water temp and oil pressure or would you forget either the oil or water and install a boost gauge. Probably shouldn't be too concerned about boost since the engine is stock and I probably won't ever chip it but I though maybe the boost gauge would help me monitor holes in the downpipe or turbo boot but watching for boost changes out of the norm. Thanks for any opinions, I am just looking to mainly protect the engine and get some advance notice if anything is going wrong or my egts are too high and the engine needs to be idled down prior to shut off.
