Re: 1st Tow with V-10
The V=10 is a strong engine especially with the Banks Power Pak. Had one in my lasT motorhome. Did get to spend considerable time with the engine in 3rd and some times second...screaming to pull a grade. Often wondered when the spark plugs would start to swapping holes. Could pass most everything except a gas station. Gross weight on the coach was 13,950# and we'd get 8 mpg on a good day running 65mph.
With the old PSD, we run almost up to 20,000# gross combined weight and we get 10 to 12 mpg running 65 mph.
The V-10 is sweet for a gasser, but sure is thirsty.
