Re: 1st Tow with V-10
Ahh, Vailman, that wasn't smoke coming off your roof, that was snow blowing off it!!
I agree about not buying the truck for gas mileage and that's exactly what I tell my friends who tease me about it being a gas guzzler. I knew it would be going in to it, but then again, the PSD is a gas guzzler (pardon the expression, guys) when compared to a Honda Accord. It's all in what you want out of the vehicle.
Anyhow, this wasn't a post to get the gas vs. PSD thing going (there's already enough of that, and I think I've started my fair share... )...I was just posting to say how suprised I was at how much tow power this truck has...and no, I haven't been able to compare it to a diesel, but I already know the numbers...to include the extra $$ for the engine and the fuel cost at the pump!
I'll be making my first "real" cross country tow when I take it to northern Michigan to my sister's cottage near Higgins Lake. Looking forward to the week vacation this August...
Stay at it, guys...gas or diesel, these trucks are far superior to the competition...I know a little about that, I had a '95 diesel Tahoe that was nothing but trouble!
