Help me distinquish sales fact from fiction
So time is running out for me to find a truck. I spent an hour haggling with the salesman last night working on a deal for a 450. At the end of the day he came back with a price that he said was below A pricing (not that I know what A pricing is). Sticker on the truck was $71k, his better than A price was $64,500. Does this sound about right to you guys?
For my application the 350 dually will be enough. Even though $7k below list is a pretty good price in my mind, it was still a little higher than I wanted to go. So I asked him to work on a deal for a 350. He came back telling me I'd only be looking to save about $700 between the 350 and 450. That just doesn't compute.
Could use your opinions on this one. Although the Ford is a very nice, feature rich truck, $65k may still be difficult to justify when a Dodge 3500 can be had for under $55k.
