Not trying to take sides but let's say that lsd doesn't harm the engine as IH "supposedly" says. That doesn't mean that IH manufactures "all" of the smog related parts that goes on this engine. Ford is the entity that you will be seeking relief from if you have a failure and therefore it's their guidelines that you should be following. Just my .02 cents.
