K/N Air filter oil and MAF Sensor?

I have used a K/N in my 460/7.5L for four years with no problems. However, my father took his newer rig in to the dealer to get a tune up (plugs and wires). Everything went well except on the receipt the ford mechanic mentioned something about excessive oil on the K/N air filter that caused or will cause the MAF sensor to malfunction.

Could the K/N be over oiled? If so, could it damage the engine or anything else?
