Turbo air leak

I've had a couple people now tell me they can hear a whisp whisp whisp sound when I get on it in my 7.3 PSD. I can't hear a thing due to too much shooting w/o earmuffs, but a tranny mechanic and just recently a master certified tech was riding in my truck and pointed it out to me. The tech suggested that it's probably a leak in one of the boots or possibly the turbo itself has gotten loose. He also noted the definite loss in power that should be there when I step on it. I bought the truck w/ 83K on it and it now has 133k.....the leak could have been there all this time, so I really don't have a power reference to go by.

I'd rather try to tackle what seems pretty simple myself, but since I can't hear where the noise is coming from, is there anything I can spray around the boots that causes different engine operation to try and isolate the leak?

And I'm assuming it'd be the red 'output' boots and not the blue 'intake' boots to the turbo, right?

THANKS!
