It is possible you have a leaking turbo hose. Just tighten up the clamps and see if it makes a difference. BTW, there is considerable "flutter" that comes from the exhaust. It is noise made by the turbine wheel (on the exhaust side) and is more audible with aftermarket exhaust. You can especially hear it with the passenger side window down and running along side a bridge railing or inside a parking garage where it is reflected back towards you. That may be what they are talking about in which case it is normal.
