Re: Lex is back with a Transmission problem. HELP!!!!
Lex, I also haul valuable livestock with a heavy head to head GN trailer and there is only one place for you to get your transmission. BTS. It is late on Friday afternoon but I would call Brian at Brian's Truck Shop (870-422-FORD). Talk to the man. Your tranny may have enough legs to make it to Lead Hill AR. Go and get a 6.0 cooler and new TC/tranny if Brian says that is what you need. There is no comparison to stock. I have not towed with mine with a fully loaded trailer yet but my tranny temps have not hit 170 yet this summer. Brian's reputation is everything you hear about and then some. Your horses are not worth taking a chance on. It will cost more than you have been quoted but you will then have a tranny that you will want to take with you to the next truck. Search on "BTS" and you will find many many satisfied customers. Do not fool around with anything less.
On edit: He may be able to ship one to an installer he trusts near you and then you would not have to travel so far. With the price of fuel that would save quite a few bucks.
