Re: Take a look at this ram air setup for the f-150

Not saying it cannot be done. The motor is allway's moving. The seal to hood would have to be thick and flexable. Just would be better if hood with scoop closed around the new air box.
Dave
Motorcycle can be quite different. I was a RR (aamrr, wera, ama) back in the 80's. With short stacked carbs you would have to close your leg's against the bike due to all the air turbulance and 1 carb steeling air from the other. This would happen at super speedway's.
The reason forced induction on motorcycle works is due to the airbox is restricted, And gets intake pulses from 4 locations (4cyl) upsetting the intake. The forced air comes in way down stream and balances the pulses.
Best way to understand is ever swim with a snorkel. You can breath. Now extend the snorkel to double its length. You cannot breath. Motorcycle airbox is setup the same way. Its like the doubled snorkel and needs the air forced down into the airbox.
Nascar has proven that forced air hp gains vs drag is a loss in speed.
They make more speed with drag removed.
BTW Dave i still have a Leoni 851. Year 92. It was put together after reno called it quits after the Jimmy incident.
