I think this is less of HOH and HIH, and more of a HAH (Hose Around Hose).

I had all sorts of problems with my original HIH installation. I used stainless steel tubing for my fuel line... I used aluminim tubing for my fuel line... all with the brass compression fittings that connected to the classic brass "T" fitting.

It all started good... but all ended badly. After about 30-60 days, the natural vibration of the truck and driving just rattled up those compression fittings, and they started to drip.

In my third attempt, I used air brake tubing at the suggestion of Blue Mule (where is he?... I haven't seen him around?). That install worked for quite a bit longer, but eventually fell to the same fate.

Now, mind you, when this thing leaks, we're not talking about my being stranded on the side of the road somewhere... we're talking about a few drips of coolant in my driveway after I park, and me having to "top off" my coolant every month or so.

As always seems to be the case, Jason over at Vegistroke came up with a HIH design that works with no leaks... it's a slightly more difficult installation (meaning you can't drink too much beer when you make your hose cuts and your connections... cause if you screw up once you're screwed...)...

.. but it's now been over 10,000 miles and a COLD winter here in Northern Idaho, and not a drop of coolant has been shed.

His assembly is more expensive (in fact, VERY expensive).... but it's the last HIH install you have to do.
