Re: disc trailer brakes with Ford controller
On the livestock, horse, and equipment trailers I have the ground from electrical cords are all tied to trailer chassis and the grounds from brake circuit twin lead is also connected to chassis for grounding.
From my perspective brakes grounded through chassis have two chances to be grounded (wire in plug plus chassis through ball coupling) and ones isolated and only grounded through the plug have only one chance. Two chances sounds more safe to me.
