Superchip problem

I have a '97 F-250 and I had to have the PCM replaced a few weeks ago. When the put the new PCM they updated it with the most recent updates. When I tried to load the chip into the new PCM my "wait to start" and "check engine" lights stated to flash and I got a "not original vehicle " message and my truck would not start. I had to have it towed to the dealership and they reloaded the stock program. After they loaded the stock program my truck cranked up and has been running fine. I have called superchips and I have talked to three different people and they all tell me something different. Do you think my programmer is vin locked? Has anyone had this problem? If so what did you do? Thanks!
