Yes the new mounting bar was the same when the kit comes in do a dry fit when you slid under your truck and add about another 2 to 3". What I did was get a piece of cardboard and and a pencil and copied the bolt pattern of the existing holes on the frame; that was the only deviation from the original bracket that came w/ the kit well plus adding another 2-3" helps out too...
Keep in mind that as a nuclear maint. hand I get a bit anal so the1/8" bracket may be just fine for you but for me 1/4" plate steel was mo-bettah..
