I finished (sort of) the gauge piller install today... Found out that my autometer trans temp gauge did not come with a sending unit (only after I started the install). Here is a question for you Excursion 7.3l people out there: I installed my boost gauge today (had to drill and tap) just after the turbo, on the y-pipe heading to the intercooler (passenger side of the "y"). I thought I had done something wrong, as when I started the truck--- nothing happened! (truck started, but no gauge reading). Not having time to mess with it, I left to run my errands... I found out that @ 2000 rpm I am getting about 5psi boost. This has to be wrong...right? My turbo sounds fine, I get the power I am supposed to get(?), did I do something wrong with the gauge install? I checked and doublechecked, no kinks, leaks, or anything else that would cause this to go funny. Now when I steped on it, it went all the way to 25psi...just for a second. I have the TM wastegate controller, just haven't installed it yet. Whats up with this?
You can get the temp sender at auto parts - about $10-12.

I spliced into the boost sensor hose and later used that splice to install the 'boost fooler' and used it for gauge tap.

5psi rolling down the road is normal and seeing a spike while yer in the throttle is normal. 25 psi is healthy for a slightly modded truck. Stockers usually only hit 16-17 psi......
