my 88 250 has the stock sticker on it for 9k its a 250 hd if that matters idk the things way past a 250 anymore but i got 550 springs and a dana 80 drw rear running singles and i usualy haul way over no problem again thats an upfitter thing i dont have paperwork for except their sticker i think they have it as 8k rear now as their modification (rear is braced and stronger than stock too i think)
thats usualy cheaper than a new truck
look at speed channel's website they have a truck show on there and they usualy have frankentruck in there it has a 550 rear in a350 for your body style you may want to do that
