but towing is a user preference

the empty trailer will not need a wd hitch but loaded it may
but some ppl think 8000 lbs is 8 tons which it aint its 4 tons and he may thing you said 8 tons/16000 lbs
buy a hitch that can convert to wd they are out there i think reese has a good one then if you see the need then get it if it tows fine leave it be
and you realy want safe reliable and stable look at the hensley arrow hitch its top of the line
