I pull a Hitchhiker Discover America in my business about 5 to 6 months per year. I installed MorRyde IS Axles and Kodiak Disc Brakes with a HD3000 Actutor. I'm back using my early 99 F-350 SRW, after trying a 2003 & 2005 6.0 liter trucks. The 03 was OK, but the 05 was better. I never got much more than 10 mph while pulling. With 4:10 gears in the DWR, it was great into a head wind, but could never run down the road all day at 70 mph and maintain more than 8.5 mpg. Since going back to my 99 with 3:73 gearing, I sacrifice the stability of duals, but have more power and can run all day at 70 to 75 on the interstate hwys and maintain 9.5 to 10 mpg. I think once I update my turbo, I should gain 2 to 3 mpg, if I put the right application in. I also need to get with DP to reflash to his new 80 hp towing mode, which should help. However, my old 7.3 broke on Thursday, so don't know what the new motor will do until I get some miles on it. I scale out at about 25, 300 on the scales. My RV axle weight is 12,200 or so. I think the trailer weighs 15,200. I use Diesel Serve every 3rd tank or so. Have tried the cetane booster, but don't see much results vs cost. Saw a number of posts this weekend on this site about DP's new 80 hp tow, so am going to call him first thing. Kybo
