If by "Standard Tranny" you mean the ZF 6-speed manual transmission, then no problem. Keep a good clutch in it and go truckin'.

If by "Standard Tranny" you mean the 4R100 automatic tranny that came with the 7.3L diesel engines in the USA, but without any mods, then no problem there either. The only mod you need is a good aftermarket tranny temp gauge. Just never allow the tranny to get too hot and you're good to go. (Don't rely on the Ford tranny temp gauge that came with 2002-up diesels in the USA.)

You guys in Oz have different combos of SuperDuty powertrains than we do, and I'm not sure of which you have. If you have the 4R100 automatic tranny behind a 7.3L diesel engine, then the tranny will certainly cope with a hard workout, but you must have a good aftermarket tranny temp gauge and never allow more than 225ºF tranny temp. As a general rule, the only thing that will kill your tranny is too-high tranny temp, or lots of hard miles.

Playing in the sand can get the tranny fluid boiling in a hurry, so you must keep an eagle eye on the tranny temp gauge. If it ever gets over about 210º, then you need to be running synthetic ATF. If it ever gets up to 225º, then you need to replace the oil-to-air (OTA) tranny cooler with a bigger one, such as the OTA tranny cooler that comes on trucks with the 6.0L diesel engine in the USA.

The 4R100 doesn't require any mods to be a good workhorse and live for at least 100,000 miles or 160,000 klicks while working hard - provided you never let it get too hot. Mine lasted 112,000 mostly-towing miles before I took it to BTS and had them bulletproof it. When BTS tore it down, the only thing wrong with it was the torque converter needed replacing, and the tranny itself would have lasted another 100,000 miles. But during that first 112,000 miles I never saw over 205ºF and I ran with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF after the first 20,000 miles.

If your automatic is the 5R110 TorqShift that comes behind the 6.0L diesel engine in the USA, then I don't know much about them except the "never let it get too hot" rule still applies, and it requires special ATF not available everywhere.

Note that member 99250 who posted above is also from Oz, and he spent the big bucks to put a BTS tranny in his '99. Then when he bought a newer model, he installed the BTS valve body. So he's your resident expert on the 4R100 tranny. If I lived down there, I'd try to get to know him.
