I've definitely noticed an increase in mpg after letting the truck do a full regen. It's happened after the last two that I've just, let it happen. Doesn't seem to be as great an increase after a passive regen, while running down the highway. I'm seeing an increase of between 1.5 and 2 mpg after a regen. Thought maybe I was mistaken after the first one, but then after the second one, had the same result, I'm beginning to think that it has an effect. Currently getting around 14.5 mpg, mostly highway miles. Was getting around 13 mpg. Haven't noticed any difference while towing our big horse trailer. Still averages around 10 mpg.
