Wonder why your 350 is seeing less? If you saw 7mpg on the truck at the dealers, many factors have to be considered. Maybe an idiot took it out on a "test" drive and beat the crap out of it, or maybe it was shutdown during a regeneration of the DPF? I am very grateful that I ordered my truck, watched it being unloaded from the carrier and besides the delivery driver and the dealer's diesel mechanic, I am the only other driver, bought it with 3 miles on the odometer. If fuel mileage is your main concern with a heavy duty diesel pickup, forget any of the current emission compliant trucks. Look for a 2007 6.0PSD or a nice Chevy/GMC Duramax of the same year.
Capt,
Any of the situations you mention is possible. Remember, that is on the lie-o-meter, so, I don't put much faith in it. I didn't put a pencil to it like I should have, so, I guess it is possible that an idiot took it out before I did.(The truck had been sitting for sometime; I had been watching it on the lot at the dealership for months and when I took it for a test drive there was so much dust on the windshield that I used the wipers to clear it.)

And no, fuel mileage isn't really a concern I just posted to get the feel for the mileage. I remember sometime back that members of TDS had posted several threads concerning fuel mileage and I was just wondering if it was as bad as some say. My current truck gets 17.0 empty and 12.0 loaded with my gooseneck trailer and tractor.

I just want a crew cab so, my passengers can sit comfortably. I wish I had gotten a crew cab to start with. Thanks for your replies. Craig.
