Pursue a buyback. Per my experience FMC does not have your best interest in mind. You will find the occasional dealer that really tries to make a customer happy but they are few and far between. It is my belief that the manufacturer of this engine (and the 6.0L)has wildly disparate quality control standards and you stand the chance of getting a very good engine or a very bad one. You have the latter, let Ford own it and start over with a new one, and pray that it's a good one.
