for the same reason that "collecting" WVO is now called "stealing". This stuff has become popular, and now that means demand is up so costs can skyrocket. I never understood that. Computer processor speed and performance demand goes up and prices drop. Trash demand goes up, and equipment to used to recycle it quadruples in price.
