Hydrogenated/Non-Hydrogenated

I obtained a cubee of oil and on the box it says "Clear liquid shortening". It is fully liquid at about 70 degrees and thats all I know at this point. I called the company on the label and talked to a lady about it. I gave her the UPC number on the box and she called me back and said it is non hydrogenated soybean oil. A guy in her office actually uses the same stuff to make bio with. Im not making bio, instead im blending with ULSD. Ive had good luck with the canola from the western sizzlin next door but this is my first experience with soy. I was under the impression that shortening meant hydrogenated? which is bad? but the label on the box says "0g Trans Fats."

My question....is this oil safe?
