A lot of the 240D's (2.4L) got motor replacements at 250k or so mi and one trick was to save $1,500 and put in a bolt up 220D (2.2L) refirb. My old 220D got 42 highway and 30 city.

I was sucking off 50 more gallons of WMO from a friends shop and he told me that his old oil is about 60% Mobile 1 synthetic and 20% ATF and 5% or so hydro and brake fluids. He said all the newer mercedes he services use Mobil1 only. I think I'll double the amount of Xylene I've been using (to 4oz per 10 gal) to help break down the polymers.
